This book follows Whimsy who is back in the hospital for treatment for clinical depression that is where she meets Farey. She notices that Farey and she have the same magic in their marrow bones. When Farey moves to the same street as her, she realizes that their lives have been twined and untwined many times before.
They are both scared of the forest at the end of their street, but the forest whispers to Whimsy and she soon realizes that the forest may hold all the secrets. It may even hold the parts that Faerry has been missing.
