About The Book:
So the book we are going to talk about this week is a debut novel from Emily McPherson called Mother Of the River which is inspired by traditional Irish Mythology. This is the first book in the Protector series.
This book follows Ianthe who lost her mother when she was six years old, soon afterward a strange statue that looks just like her Mother has appear in the river near her home. Now eleven years later, an acquaintance returns to the town suggesting that the statue isn’t just a statue but Ianthe’s mother. With her best friend Fintan by herself, they deep dive into the lost legends, family secrets, and the magic of Ireland.
